One of my most favorite restaurants ever. Sure, they don’t always get your order right (which I’ll bet is mostly due to my crappy Spanish), but whatever you end up with will likely be just as delicious and after a quart of beer who really cares. My favorite? The pupusas filled with cheese and loroco. At $1.80 apiece, I could eat at least 5.
Tired of hearing about it? Just go then. El Zocalo’s right up on Mission St past The Blue Plate (another damn fine eatery) between Valencia and 29th and apparently they’ve been there for quite a while (like 20 years or so). They’re also open pretty late, making for a lovely after drink meal option that’s not another burrito.
