About

utah-061-1_1.JPG

The Landlubber is one mid-sized Mariah Gardner who very much enjoys a good outing, especially when abandoned buildings are involved. When she’s confined to town she can generally be found overseeing diminutive sailors at the Hyde Street Pier, gallavanting around for The Bold Italic or consulting weather-beaten maps for field trip ideas. The occasional cocktail may also be involved.

    Hi Mariah,

I’m curious, are most of your pics here taken with the Olympus XA? They are great.

    Hi,
I really enjoy reading this. I’m from the Bay Area as well, and there are some great escapes here. What are you using for a camera/film? I love the tones. Thanks.

Thanks! I almost always use the same old Minolta SRT-101 that I got for my sixteenth birthday. It was old then and even older now, but still produces such lovely images. Film-wise it kind of depends on what’s lying around but I have a thing for the cheapo Fujicolor 400, its my favorite.

Mariah -sorry for the strange post – I got your name from Reyhan but she didn’t supply an email. I have a start-up in SF that I need content contributors for and would like to talk to you but can’t find an email!
    Thanks
    Michael

Hi there. I’m extremely interested in a print of yours I saw in San Francisco. Could you please email me back so we can talk?

    Hi Mariah,

I caught wind of your blog via California Northern Magazine – I like your take on things. The Eureka picture in Issue #2 caught my attention because I used to volunteer at the Maritime Museum. Also, thanks for the link to the Center For Land Use Interpretation.

    Best,

    Jesse

Thanks, Jesse! I’m still down at the Maritime Park everyday and I love it. As for CLUI, it’s like an atlas for adventure—many a roadtrip’s been planned looking at that site and I’m hoping for another one here soon…

Mariah! I really wanted to try your Tonic #4 at SOEX Saturday eve but was at another gallery the whole evening helping a friend. I’d love to profile it on my blog. (Can you email me at the address I’ve included? Thanks!)
PS: Your images make me swoon.

    Hello there–
Just discovered your work & love it. I am involved in similar adventures among boatyards & abandoned buildings on the east coast. Nice to meet you (sort of).
