Thought we'd spend the day after the day after New Years by riding across the Golden Gate. Stopped at fisherman's wharf for half a crab and a chowder bowl, which we scarfed in the shadow of the Musee Mechanique. Wish it was still out at the Cliff House, but I guess it's fitting down there next to the Hyde St Pier and all. Oh, and yes the royal "we" has been given up in favor of the singular "I" in the new year. Sometimes its just too difficult to construct sentences that way and gives the impression that there's more than one of us. I mean me.
Managed not to kill myself riding down the long hill into Sausalito. The Superbee's a great bike, but sometimes I worry its going to fly apart in all directions, which is rather the same white knuckled sense of fear I get while driving old bluey over the Bay Bridge. I suppose there's something to be said for owning things that aren't old and rickety. That not being the case here, we opted not to ride back up hell hill and hopped on the city-bound ferry instead. I do love those ferries.
Can't believe I've never been to Alcatraz. Guess there's just one more thing to visit this year.
And a happy new year to you, too.

Can't find the bridge? I'll give you a hint, its big and its red. As for the ferry, it runs between pier 41 (right next to the Ferry Building) and the very-hard-to-miss ferry terminal at Sausalito. Check the timetable before you go, as they change pretty often.
