Paid a last minute visit to the Alameda County Fair a couple weeks ago. One of those random evenings with Curt and Shayna in Oakland when we couldn't decide what to do for dinner and then found out that Boys II Men were playing. Yes, they were awesome and yes, they opened with Motown Philly. Corn dog dinners also rule.
I swear that place is like corn dog city.
Roosevelt likes the weird misshapen ones.
I think I must be getting older since I've started favoring the animals over the rides. Those goats are just so bouncy and awesome to watch and the bunnies are so cute they make my eyes tear up. One of these days I'm bailing on this city thing and starting a farm.

Still fair? Though this one's over (as are the Sonoma-Marin and the Marin County Fairs) we're still smack in the middle of sweet, sweet fair season. Still to come: The Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa, the Yuba-Sutter Fair (complete with demolition derby!), the Mid State Fair (Steely Dan July 25th! Sadly, not free...) and not to forget the big ol' California State Fair up in Sacramento. Don't know how many we'll make it to this year, the last Best Summer Ever boasted 7, but I think the lake camping chili-dog is trumping the corn dog this time.
